August 5th Weekly Update

Hi Friend,

Though we hope you’re off somewhere enjoying the summer, we’d like to try and catch a bit of your attention. In an effort to share some of what comes across our desk, we're sending along a few bite-sized updates for the week of August 5th for you to marble over.

If you're interested in taking your non-financial disclosure practice up a notch, consider...

Listening to thought leadership as you go about your day

  • A few months ago, our founder, Nancy Mancilla, was asked to share insights about the sustainability reporting space with former training participant, Josh Prigge on his Sustainable Nation Podcast. Listen in to hear more about their discussion of the current market status for non-financial disclosure and how we’ve seen the space has evolved over the years.

Digging into recent disclosure efforts

Focusing out recent publications

  • Sustainability Reports and the Limitations of Limited Assurance was explored in a recent piece released by the CPA Journal. In that, the author argues that the tension between traditional auditing and non-financial auditing where ‘limited assurance’ reports may compromise the quality of the reported information when all management systems, underlying processes, and depth aren’t thoroughly reviewed. However, anyone who has gone through the process knows that it takes readiness and a certain level of maturity before one can even begin to consider assurance/verification. If you’re interested in hearing our take, we encourage you to schedule a call with our experienced practitioners!
